Calash supports Balmoral Comtec on its sale to Freudenberg Flow Technologies

Balmoral Comtec has been acquired by Freudenberg Flow Technologies, a company owned by the Freudenberg Group. Balmoral Comtec is a leading supplier of engineered buoyancy, cable protection, and thermal insulation product solutions serving the offshore oil and gas and wind industries. Balmoral Comtec is based in Aberdeen, Scotland, and employs 400 people at three locations in the United Kingdom. The company has a global footprint with customer projects in both the Oil & Gas and renewable energy markets in Europe, South America, and Asia. The acquisition expands its current business in the conventional energy segment and grows its portfolio of products supporting the energy transition.

Calash provided Vendor Commercial Due Diligence (VCDD) to support Balmoral Comtec, a portfolio company of Balmoral Group, on the transaction. Our work focused on assessing Balmoral Comtec’s market, its HSE credentials, operational best practices, and manufacturing capability, and on validating several emerging markets, including floating offshore wind.
